Neurology Of Bend

After completing his undergraduate work at U.C. Davis, Dr. Buchholz went on to do pre-med at UC Santa Barbara and Medical School at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City. After initially considering cardiology, a love of neurology developed and he proceeded to complete his Neurology training at UC Irvine in 1981. He became Board Certified in 1983 and after stints in Sonora and Fresno CA Dr. Buchholz made the decision to develop a full neurology practice in Bend, OR.

Dr Buchholz has cared for adult and pediatric neurology patients of all types for more than 25 years. In addition to the full spectrum of Neurological conditions he also has specific expertise in using Botox in neurological conditions, performing Vagal Nerve Stimulator (VNS) programming for epilepsy, and performing Deep Brain Stimulator (DBS) programming for Parkinson's Disease and tremors.

Dr. Ireland graduated Magna Cum Laude from University of Oregon Health Sciences Center and went on to complete a residency in Internal Medicine at the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts during which he served as a Clinical Fellow in Medicine at Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Ireland is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Neurology. He enjoys all aspects of his practice and has a general interest in treatment of multiple sclerosis and headaches.Dr. Ireland views his opportunity to serve Central Oregon patients as a wealth not to be counted.
